Truls Velgaard – CEO Wegener

Truls Velgaard assumed executive responsibility for Wegener within Mecom in October 2010, pending his formal appointment as Chairman of the Management Board at a meeting of Wegener’s shareholders to be convened as soon as practicable.  He started his career at Fredriksstad Blad as a journalist in 1979, and was appointed editor-in-chief and managing director of Fredriksstad Blad in 1991. Truls Velgaard joined Orkla Media in 1998 as Director for Region Ost, one of three regions within Orkla Media Norway. In August 2005, he was made Director of Sales and Marketing competence in Orkla Media, and he subsequently became CEO of Poland and Chairman of Norway.

Ms F. van den Brink, Chief Administration Officer, Wegener

On 18 May 2011, Ms Fieneke van den Brink was appointed as member of the Executive Board. She started working as a personnel officer at BV Utrechts Nieuwsblad, formerly called Johan de Liefde, a former Wegener subsidiary in 1981. Between 1991 and 2007, she worked at group level, most recently as Staff Director P&O. In this role, she reported to Wegener’s Executive Board, was part of the Executive Board consultative committee and she was responsible for P&O policy. From 2007 through 2010, Ms Van den Brink was employed as an independent P&O consultant, both within Wegener (also to the Executive Board) and elsewhere. Ms Van den Brink has extensive experience in personnel and organisation, (strategy, tools and processes), terms of employment, pensions, takeover processes, negotiations and maintaining relationships with employer and employee organisations and works councils, as well as management experience.
